Elegent Driving Academy
Welcome to Elegent Driving Academy! These Terms of Business set out the key information, policies, and expectations related to your driving tuition with us. By booking a lesson, you are agreeing to these terms.
1. Our Services
- We provide driving lessons exclusively in automatic vehicles.
- Tuition can be provided in your own vehicle or ours, subject to the requirements outlined below.
2. Lesson Pricing & Payments
- Standard Rate: £38 per hour
- Session Duration: Minimum of 2 hours per session
- Bulk Discount: Available for packages of up to 10 sessions. Please inquire for current offers.
- Urgent Bookings: Short-notice bookings (e.g. a driving test with little preparation time) may incur an additional fee.
- Payment Methods: Bank transfer or cash. Payments can be made:
- In advance (recommended for bulk sessions)
- Immediately after each lesson
3. Use of Your Own Car
We charge same price as using our own car, this is in relation to the risks that comes with being in your vehicle. If you choose to use your own vehicle for lessons, the following conditions must be met:
- MOT & Road Tax: Vehicle must be fully MOT’d and taxed.
- Insurance: You must have valid insurance that covers:
- Provisional license holders
- Driving instruction by a third party (me)
- If the policy is under an international license, you must confirm with your insurer that instruction is permitted.
- Vehicle Condition: The car must be mechanically sound, clean, and safe. Ensure:
- Adequate tyre tread
- All lights, especially brake lights, are functioning
- Interior is neat and suitable for a lesson and test environment
4. Licensing & Documentation
- You must have a valid UK or EU provisional driving license, or an international license (if you’ve been in the UK less than 12 months).
- Your license must be shown before the first lesson and kept on you during all training sessions.
- Minimum age for lessons: 17 years
5. Eligibility & Fitness to Drive
We cannot provide lessons if:
- You are under the age of 17
- You have been disqualified from driving
- You have a medical condition that prohibits you from driving safely
- You are under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that impairs driving
Please inform us in advance of:
- Any points or endorsements on your license
- Any changes to your medical condition
- Any circumstances that could impact your ability to drive safely
6. Eyesight Requirement
You must be able to read a UK number plate from 20.5 metres (67 feet). If you require glasses or contact lenses to do so, you must wear them while driving.
7. Lesson Conduct & Punctuality
- We strive to arrive on time, but delays may occasionally occur due to traffic, illness, or breakdowns.
- You will always receive your full lesson time, even if delayed.
- If you are more than 10 minutes late, we reserve the right to cancel and charge for the session due to lost time and travel.
8. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
- Late cancellations may incur a charge.
- If we need to cancel due to emergency, illness, or vehicle issues, we will offer you an alternative time as a priority.
- If the DVSA cancels your test, our fee for the session remains payable, but you may claim this back from the DVSA.
9. Driving Tests
- Use of our vehicle for the driving test is conditional on you being test-ready, safe, and having had sufficient practice.
- We reserve the right to refuse use of our vehicle if we believe it would be unsafe or inappropriate.
10. Recordings & Data Use
- We may ask for permission to photograph your license for our records.
- With your consent, we may record lessons or celebrate your pass on our social media channels.
- You can opt-out at any time, and all data will be deleted upon request.
- No personal images or recordings will be made public without your permission.
11. Booking & Communication
- To book, please text or call with your availability and preferred lesson times.
- Kindly send your pickup address prior to the session.
- Please be patient if responses are delayed—we may be with another student.
Agreement & Acknowledgement
By attending a lesson, you are entering into a contract under these terms. Please confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to our Terms of Business before proceeding with training.
